So, I did not intend to start this blog and then leave it languishing for weeks with no content. But LIFE happens and that’s just true.
About a week and a half ago, I had a really interesting couple of days. I got sick. SICK. No REALLY SICK. I’ll spare you the gory details, but let’s just say that it involved lots and lots of pain and impressive gastro-pyrotechnics.
After I started feeling better, I thought:
Hey, maybe my body is trying to tell me something.
(I’m real sharp about these things.)
So I started a 21 day cleanse. I’m on day 8 and I gotta tell you, I feel pretty dang good.
What does all of this have to do with art?
You see, the artful life I’m pursuing is connected to a body. If I don’t care well for the body, the art just is never gonna happen. I can hole up in my studio for days on end, but if I neglect the needs of my body I’m not going to get much done.
So I’m celebrating the beginning of a wiser relationship with my arms and legs and and stomach and all that.
Hello dear body.
